The Forest Service is asking for public input on a proposed draft of the revised Shoshone National Forest Land and Resource Management Plan (Forest Plan) during an informal 30-day review period. Comments will need to be submitted by February 2, 2012.
The planning team will use your comments to identify issues that will help the team form alternatives to the proposed draft. The draft plan, and alternatives to it, will be analyzed in a draft environmental impact statement, which is expected to be released early this summer. A formal, 90-day public comment period will follow the publication of the draft plan and the draft environmental impact statement.
During the month of January, the Forest Service will be holding a series of open houses in local communities. The local district ranger, resource specialists, forest planner, and forest supervisor will be there to answer your questions. The public is encouraged to drop by anytime between 5:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
