The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) will present information about its inventory of public lands containing wilderness characteristics in the Bighorn Basin at a meeting hosted by the Washakie County Commission and the Washakie County Conservation District. This cooperating agency meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2012, from 9 am to 5 pm at the Worland Community Center, and is open to the public.
The meeting will include presentations regarding why and how the BLM conducts continuous inventories of public lands, including those for wilderness characteristics, and how the manageability of public land containing wilderness characteristics is considered during the resource management plan process. Discussions about specific inventories will focus on lands within the Worland Field Office area and include lands in the Cody Field Office area as time permits.
The Worland Community Center is located at 1200 Culbertson Avenue, two blocks south of Big Horn Avenue. For more information, please contact the Worland Field Office at 307-347-5100.
Thanks in advance and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact BRC.
