
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Yuma Field Office will hold an open house on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, to update the public on the La Posa Travel Management Plan (TMP). The open house will be held at the Quartzsite Improvement Association (QIA) building located at 235 East Ironwood Street; Quartzsite, Arizona, from 2:00 to 5:30 p.m.
There will be a brief presentation about travel management planning at 2:30 pm, followed by time for residents and interested parties to individually speak with local BLM specialists and managers regarding their questions and concerns. Maps will be on display for review, as well as general travel management information. This meeting is for informational purposes and the public will have 30 days to submit written comments on the route alternatives.
Written comments about the La Posa TMP maps will be accepted until March 7, 2012. Comments postmarked by this date will be considered in making the final decision. The La Posa Travel Management Area surrounds Quartzsite, Arizona, and encompasses over 380,000 acres of public land in La Paz and Yuma Counties.
