INTERIM LETTER TO OWNERS

IMPORTANT SAFETY RECALL NOTICE

Dear TRX Owner:

In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, American Honda Motor Co., Inc. is conducting a voluntary safety recall of certain 2007 model year TRX500FA/FGA/FE/FM ATVs.

What is the problem?

Water can enter the right-side stop-switch wire harness and collect inside the plastic sheathing. The trapped water can seep into the wires and, over time, contaminate the throttle position sensor. Water in the throttle position sensor can freeze in cold weather and prevent the engine from returning to idle when the throttle lever is released.

! Warning !

Riding your TRX in freezing or near freezing temperatures could result in a stuck throttle.

This could lead to a crash in which the rider may be seriously hurt or killed. Do not ride your TRX until the wire harness has been modified and the throttle position sensor replaced.

What should you do?

Honda strongly recommends that you do not operate your TRX in freezing or near freezing temperatures until it has been repaired. Parts will be available soon. We will send you another letter notifying you when you can go to your Honda ATV dealer to have the repair completed.

If you must ride your TRX, allow at least 10 minutes for warm-up and remember that the outside temperature can change quickly and unexpectedly. As the temperature gets colder and nears 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the more likely it will be for any water in the throttle position sensor to freeze and result in a stuck throttle.

If you have questions.

If you have questions about this notice, or need assistance with locating a Honda dealer, please call Honda Motorcycle Customer Service at (866) 784-1870.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Thank you for your purchase of a Honda TRX and your cooperation.

Sincerely,

American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
