- From Dallas: I-45 south...exit FM 2989 (South of Madisonville) turn right to HWY 75...turn left (south) & go 6 miles turn right on Bishop Rd and go one mile you will see General Sams entrance From Houston: Take exit 123 FM 1696 off I-45 (4miles North of Huntsville). Turn left, then go West (under the overpass) 2 miles on FM 1696 to HWY 75. Turn right (North) on HWY 75 and go 5 miles *. Turn left on Bishop Road and go 1 mile. The Red Gate will be open.
