ATV Safety

Everyone wants to have the most possible fun on an ATV.  ATV's provide a great deal of fun, but, when operated improperly, can be dangerous. Accidents on ATV's can ruin your experience, and leave a rider hurt.  I have witnessed accidents, and I can say almost all of ATV accidents could have been avoided if people had followed some basic rules and used common sense.  ATV's can roll over or flip over if operated improperly.  The following list of safety principles should help get you started.

Basic Operating Rules

  1.  ALWAYS wear a HELMET, and other proper saftey equipment (see below)!!!!!!!!
  2.  NEVER consume alcohol while operating an ATV.
  3.  Follow your manufacturer's operating instructions.
  4.  Always operate your ATV within your riding capabilities and in control.
  5.  Always be aware of your environment and other riders.
  6.  Stay on designated trails.
  7.  Tread lightly.
  8.  HAVE A LOT OF FUN!!!!!!

Age Standards

Make sure you and your freinds or family members are riding an ATV that's right for their age. The guidelines are:

  • Age 6 and older - Under 70cc
  • Age 12 and older - 70cc to 90cc
  • Age 16 and older - Over 90cc
