MARCH 19, 2008 Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A. Recalls Rhino Side-by-Side Vehicles Due to Risk of Brake Failure The following product safety recall was voluntarily conducted by the firm in cooperation with the CPSC. Consumers should stop using the product immediately unless otherwise instructed. Name of Product: Model Year 2008 Rhino YXR450 and YXR700 Side-by-Side Vehicles Units: About 7,800 Distributor: Yamaha Motor Corporation U.S.A., of Cypress, Calif. Manufacturer: Yamaha Motor Manufacturing Corp. of America, of Newnan, Ga. Hazard: The brake caliper on the left front wheel could have been made incorrectly, resulting in brake fluid leaking. This can cause a loss of braking and control of the vehicle, posing a serious safety risk to the driver and passenger. Incidents/Injuries: None reported.
