ATV Escape

Three Rivers Management area in Broken Bow, OK will be shut down to ATV riding very soon. Under the new contract with the state of Oklahoma only during deer season will ATVs allowed to be used on the 500,000 acres that used to be open to ATVs year round for recreational use. Email or call the state to complain about this. I will get an email address for this.

This is a tragic thing to hear......A TRAIL SYSTEM BEING CLOSED. As ATV riders we ALL need to stick together in order to have numbers in our voice. Any group or club can push this by envolving as many people/riders as possible. Along with articles in the news papers as well. What seems to be left out is that when people and groups use trails often that how it contributes to the local economy.
Knowing that this trail system IS CLOSED is a slap in the face to ALL of us. But I myself was not informed by USFS or any entity about such closer. We, as a club, would have placed a suit on them for further study as to the impact of such a closing as well as preventing people from using the land for which BELONGS TO ALL OF US. USFS IS NOT THE OWNER OF ANY OF THESE LANDS. The people are - we just let them manage it - not take it away. To get the trails re-opened will take alot of dedication of many people. Don't be afraid of USFS or those guys who represent them selves as USFS LAW ENFORCEMENT. THEY DO WORK FOR US.
USFS does not like attention especially when they have made way too many mistakes.

It is amazing how much ATV riding contributes to local economies and helps small business. We are going to have to band together in order to get things changed. One of the purposes of this site is to make people aware of closings and areas being threatened through individuals. We can send a message to all users in a certain state or states of an area being closed. Obvisouly the more members we have the more we can address these items. I hope we can find a way to reverse this decision in order to open the trails around Broken Bow again.
