Minneapolis, February 21, 2012 –This past Saturday, Polaris, in conjunction with the Wounded Warrior Project™ (WWP), gave away three, special, blacked-out RANGER RZRXP 4 900s to WWP Alumni. The “Phantom 4s” were presented to the three winners by representatives from the Wounded Warrior Project and Polaris. Polaris Defense surprised each winner by providing $5,000 worth of gear and accessories to outfit their new vehicles. Polaris also presented Wounded Warrior Project, $33,050 to honor the 1,322 people that entered the contest ($25 for each entrant).

The new Polaris Defense trailer made its way to Polaris’ headquarters near Minneapolis, Minn. to show off its new design. The truck goes to different military bases across the country promoting Polaris vehicles and training military customers.

CYPRESS, Calif. – November 23, 2011 – Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., made its annual donation to the Feed the Children charity Friday, November 18 at Yamaha’s corporate headquarters in Cypress, Calif. Company officials presented two checks totaling  $25,000  along with a truck load of donated items to the organization. (NYSE:  PII) today announced the acquisition of Goupil Industrie SA, a privately owned, Bourran, France-based manufacturer of on-road, commercial electric vehicles, built on a modular design that offers many functional options and appeals to a wide variety of customers.  The move will add Goupil vehicles to Polaris’ growing small electric vehicle product portfolio, while becoming part of a global brand will expand Goupil’s reach, both within and outside its existing European sales base.  Goupil, which reported approximately $25 million in sales during calendar year 2010, will continue operating in Bourran with its current staff.

So the big news in the UTV world was the recent announcement of Kawasaki's new Teryx4 UTV (Kawasaki calls the Teryx a RUV). It is a 4-seat version of its Teryx UTV, and this only the second sport-type model available from a major manufacturer with 4 seats. Yes, there are other 4 seat UTV models available, but the Polaris RZR 4 and Kawasaki Teryx4 are the only "Sport" type UTVs by a major manufacturer.
