The Forest Service has extended the public comment period on the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Oregon Dunes NRA Management Area 10c Designated Routes Project an additional 45 days following a request from the Board of Commissioners for Coos, Douglas and Lane counties. The comment period will now end on January 24, 2013.

The new Drive Evolution Wildcat trailer display will be the epicenter of demo ride opportunities, as well as a place where Arctic Cat consumers can relax, and associated aftermarket partners can display their Arctic Cat off-road vehicles and product.
MINNEAPOLIS (December 6, 2012) — Polaris Industries Inc. (NYSE: PII) today announced the acquisition of Teton Outfitters, LLC, a privately owned, Rigby, Idaho-based company which designs, develops and distributes KLIM Technical Riding Gear. Calendar year 2012 sales for KLIM are anticipated to approach $30 million. KLIM is an industry leader in technical riding gear. This acquisition adds KLIM to Polaris’ growing parts, garments and accessories (PG&A) business. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Morgantown, W.Va. (December 4, 2012) - MX Sports Pro Racing and the ATVPG announce today the 2013 schedule for America's most prestigious and longest standing ATV racing series - the AMA ATV Motocross National Championship Series. The ten-race series kicks off March 23 and 24 at Aonia Pass MX in Washington, Ga., and wraps up August 10 and 11 at Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.
As many of you know, the Mendocino National Forest is proposing to do a salvage timber sale to address various resource and safety issues that resulted from the Mill Fire this summer. Valcourt, Québec, November 26, 2012 – After a 27-hour battle with the most brutal racing terrain the Baja Peninsula of Mexico has to offer, the Motoworks / Can-Am DS 450 team of Josh Frederick, Jeremie Warnia, Collins Webster and Jarrod McClure crossed the finish line ahead of 297 other starters and 1121 miles away from the start line of the Baja 1000 in Ensenada, Mexico. Once across the line, the team was officially declared the Pro ATV-class winner of the 45th running of the Baja 1000.

Valcourt, Québec, November 7, 2012 – Can-Am® ATV racers battled through muddy, slick conditions at the final round of the 2012 Can-Am GNCC racing series in Tennessee, and came away with five class championships. Team UXC Racing / Can-Am racer Cliff Beasley rode his Can-Am Renegade® to a second-place finish in the U2 class and repeated as the class champion. Bryan Buckhannon successfully repeated as the 4x4 Open class champion with his fourth-place run aboard his Can-Am Outlander™ 800R. Kevin Trantham won the 4x4 Lites class on his Outlander 500, finished third overall on the morning podium and notched his third GNCC championship.

The 13-round series wrapped up last weekend at the Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tenn., where AmPro Yamaha's Paul Whibley secured his second XC1 Pro class title, while KR4 Performance's Jason Thomas clinched his first XC2 Pro Lites title on the motorcycle side.

Hurricane Mills, Tenn. (November 5, 2012) - In an all-out battle to the finish, Maxxis/Yoshimura's Chris Borich took home the victory at Sunday's Parts Unlimited Loretta Lynn's GNCC finale. However, it wasn't without tough competition from fellow XC1 class opponents. Borich was able to make a last-lap pass on Ballance Racing Yamaha's Taylor Kiser to take over the lead and lock in his tenth win of the 2012 Can-Am Grand National Cross Country season in Hurricane Mills, Tenn.
Last month, the Eldorado National Forest issued formal notice that they will conduct an environmental analysis that will determine whether portions of 42 travel routes that were closed by court order will be re-opened to public wheeled motor vehicle use. (Read previous alert here)

This year's schedule features dirt bikes on Saturday, November 3 and ATVs on Sunday, November 4.
Cypress, Calif., October 31, 2012 – Yamaha Motor Corporation, U.S.A.’s, Parts and Accessories Division (YPAD) is offering a new Rhino Body Kit, giving owners yet another way to personalize their Yamaha Rhino Side-by-Side vehicles.
The eight-piece collection includes a front bumper guard that mounts to the OE bumper, two-piece wraparound front overfender flares that extend the OE front fenders an additional 4.125 inches, rear overfender flares that add 3.375 inches to the rear fenders, and a shaker-style hood scoop.
The Arizona State Parks department is hosting three workshops to provide input on the Statewide Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Program. According to the Arizona State Parks, the purpose of these workshops is to identify key issues related to OHV recreation in Arizona from all stakeholder perspectives and to gather information from all stakeholders to help the agency operate a comprehensive and effective OHV program.
