Traveling I-75 north from Chattanooga:
Take exit 376A (Hwy 162N) to Oak Ridge. Hwy 162 will merge with Hwy 62 in Solway. Follow Hwy 62 west through Oak Ridge (Hwy 62 is also named Illinois Ave. in Oak Ridge) to the intersection of Hwy 95 (also named Oak Ridge Turnpike). Follow Hwy 62 into Oliver Springs 4.5 miles to a traffic light with a Food City Grocery Store on the right. Continue on Hwy 62 one mile to Windrock Road, just past the Oliver Springs overpass. Turn right on Windrock Rock Road and travel .5 mile to Windrock Park Lane on the right.
Traveling I-40 east from Nashville:
Take exit 356 (Gallaher Road/Oak Ridge Highway). Turn left onto Highway 58 (Gallaher Road) toward Oak Ridge. Proceed approximately 14.4 miles to the intersection of Highway 95 (also named Oak Ridge Turnpike). Turn left onto Hwy 62 into Oliver Springs 4.5 miles to a traffic light with a Food City Grocery Store on the right. Continue on Hwy 62 one mile to Windrock Road, just past the Oliver Springs overpass. Turn right on Windrock Rock Road and travel .5 mile to Windrock Park Lane on the right.
Traveling I-40 west from Asheville:
Take I-40 west (Take the I-640 bypass in Knoxville due to construction and follow the Chattanooga/Nashville signs until you reconnect with I-40 west. www.SmartFIX40.com) Take exit 376A (Highway 162N) to Oak Ridge. Riding Requirements
Each person, no matter their age or activity, must have a permit. Each person entering the area is required to have their permit along with the pink copy of their permit with them at all times while on the property. Purchasing Permits Land Use Permits can be purchased at the Windrock Park Campground office (555 Windrock Park Lane, Oliver Springs, TN 37840), the Snack Shack located at the trail head (912 Windrock Road, Oliver Springs, TN 37840), and Exxon Fun Food, 557 Tri-County Boulevard, Oliver Springs, TN 37840. The Snack Shack will be selling permits from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm or close. They also have trail maps and other Coal Creek OHV Area merchandise. The Snack Shack can be reached at (865) 435-6971. Land Rules and Regulations Release forms must be signed by all persons entering on the properties of The Coal Creek Company and a COPY OF THIS FORM MUST BE CARRIED ON THEIR PERSON. A LAND USE PERMIT must be displayed on the vehicle in a clearly visible area. Maintain a 5 mph limit in all staging/parking areas. Travel is limited to marked trails. Stay away from all reclaimed mined areas, active mining areas, logging operations, gas/oil facilities and the Tactical Training Center in Beech Grove. DO NOT LITTER ON THIS PROPERTY. Violators will be barred from the property. Tires with studs are not allowed. Firing of weapons is strictly prohibited. NO TARGET PRACTICE! Proper safety equipment must be worn at all times. No hill climbing except on marked trails. Be considerate of others using the trails and report any unauthorized or illegal behavior observed. No alcohol. No fireworks or open fires. Off-highway vehicle operation on the property is limited to daylight hours. Mandatory speed limit of 15 mph on Trail P-1 (paved access road). Streams and stream beds will be avoided where possible. Should any water crossing be necessary, the permittee will make such crossing only on or over marked trails, strictly comply with posted rules and regulations and will avoid creation of any erosion or stream bed sediment.

The Coal Creek OHV Area is 72,000 acres of off road fun, located in Oliver Springs, Tennessee. Hundreds of off-roaders can be found every weekend enjoying our trails. The trails are open to everyone and just about any type of vehicle. ATV's, motorcycles, Jeeps, buggies trucks all enjoy some of the best off-roading in the country.

The trails on the north side are much better suited for Atvs and with a little travel on the trails the scenery is great. The trails can be at times lacking maintenance but are overall great get a map and stay off the double diamond areas and u will be very impressed.

If your are in a jeep this place is awesome. But for us Atv guys there is just to much focus on the jeep and rock crawlers!!!
