The Siuslaw National Forest has announced that the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the  Oregon Dunes NRA Management Area 10c Designated Routes Project is now available for public review and comments.

The DEIS is available on their website at http://www.fs.fed.us/nepa/fs-usda-pop.php/?project=34220. Printed copies of the DEIS will be available for viewing at the Oregon Dunes NRA Office in Reedsport, the Central Coast Ranger District Office in Waldport, the Siuslaw Headquarters in Corvallis and at several public libraries--including but not limited to--Eugene, Springfield, Roseburg, Bend, Grants Pass, Medford, Waldport, Reedsport and Coos Bay.

Soon after the release of the DEIS, the Forest Service will be hosting an open house in Florence to answer questions and receive comments.

Comments received through the U.S. Postal Service must be postmarked no later than the end of the 45-day comment period. All other comments, including e-mail, fax, and personal delivery must be received by COB (4:30 p.m.) at the Siuslaw National Forest office on or before the end of the 45-day comment period. The official 45-day comment period runs from October 26, 2012, through December 10, 2012.

Written comments shall include your name, address, and (if possible) telephone number; title of the document on which you are commenting; and specific facts or comments, along with supporting reasons that you believe the Responsible Official should consider in reaching a decision.
