The Shoshone National Forest has released their Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) and Draft Land Management Plan for public review and comment. The public is invited to participate in reviewing these documents and to provide comments during this important phase of the plan revision process. The 90-day public comment period started with publication of the Notice of Availability in the Federal Register on August 3, 2012. Comments must be postmarked or emailed no later than November 1, 2012.

These documents are available for viewing at local public libraries and at Shoshone National Forest offices in Cody, Dubois and Lander. Compact discs or hard copies of these documents may be requested by telephone (307.527.6241) or e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. They are also available on the Shoshone National Forest's website at www.fs.usda.gov/detail/shoshone/home/?cid=stelprdb5379153.

During the comment period the Forest Service will hold public meetings to assist you with understanding the documents and submitting comments. The schedule for these public meetings is listed below.

September 24, 2012    Cody, Big Horn Federal, 1701 Stampede Ave., 5-7 p.m.

September 25, 2012    Dubois, Headwaters Art & Convention Center, 17 Stalnaker St., 5-7 p.m.

September 26, 2012    Lander, Monarch Hall (Pronghorn Lodge), 150 E. Main St., 5-7 p.m.

September 27, 2012    Thermopolis, Big Horn Federal, 643 Broadway St., 5-7 p.m.
