I love this place. Do not print the map off the the Forest Services site. It is no good. Wait until you get there and pick one up. Stayed in a Cabin and rode to trails. That is why I rated the amenities high.

I have ridden this on more than one occasion, and it is one of my favorite places to ride anywhere. The camping is very primitive, so you must bring everything you will need. The riding is great with everything from hard pack trails to really rocky trails. Most difficult places have an easier way around. The scenery is fantastic. This place is worth a weekend trip.

Spent the weekend at Wolf Pen Gap and had a wonderful time. The Trails offer riding levels from easy to most diffcult, the scenery was wonderful. We noticed several campsite available along the trails. We stayed at Outback Cabins and couldn't have asked for a better location. We rode our ATV's from the cabin to the trails. Can't wait to come back this summer!

No longer open year around. Check the NF website for dates. Also trails will close after heavy rainfall.

First trip here in 1998 was great, although very dusty. Trails were still rugged and challenging. Except for trail 3 and 313, most of the trails have been worked into roads that are not fun to ride. Environmental nuts have nearly gotten this place shutdown. Many trails have closed since 1998 and the only trial currently open to get all the way across the system east to west is Trail 6. Trails that don't make a loop aren't that exciting to ride.

Go to Fourche Mountain if you want to see what Wolfpen was like 20 years ago. Wolfpen is mostly disappointing now.

Old logging trails are now ATV trails. Some water crossings, but DO NOT stay in water any longer than necessary. Greenies are trying to shut down the riding due to "water quality" issues.
Otherwise, fabulous miles of trails. Local law allows for riding on county roads. You can use these to go to a local waterfall to cool off.
The trail up a mountain side to a viewpoint is very challenging, with some rock crawling involved. Novices beware.
Local rv campground by same name (Wolf Pen Gap Campground) has cabins and rv camping, just an easy ride from one of the trail heads. They also sell gas.
