What Ever Happened to ?
What ever happened to the Diesel Powered 700 ?
Loved the Max speed of 40 MPH downhill. After 15 MPH you have to look at the trail no site seeing. Loved to go slow and enjoy the Mountains, deserts, valleys, and other good things to see.
Loved the 48 MPG range in the 6 gallon fuel tank. Low gearing stump pulling Tractor like Macho feeling when riding and doing such tasks. Most are still in service and will be for many years to come.
Started it up on the Wester Seirra Jamboree one morning and a fellow rider came overt to tell me I had a Horrible Rod Knock. I politely said "No it a Diesel" he fell silent, listened for a moment and said "Well I'll be darned, where can I get one"? Can't I said, Articat doesn't make any more. "Fools" he said.
