DAKAR 2020 Is On & Can-Am Is There
The DAKAR off-road race is something all of you have probably heard about at some point because it is "the" race billed as the toughest off-road race ever. This year DAKAR has been moved from South America back to Saudi Arabia. The 2020 DAKAR race is taking place right now in Saudi Arabia with multiple stages over multiple days with many many miles to the tune of 5,592 to be exact. DAKAR is not just a race about speed but also a race about keeping the car in one piece throughout the race in order just to finish.
This year Can-Am is back racing DAKAR with Casey Currie at the helm, who has taken the SSV (side-by-side) class win the last two years at DAKAR. At the completion of stage 9 yesterday, Casey Currie was 3 minutes 30 seconds behind the leader. Today is stage 10 and time will tell if Casey will take the lead and win the SSV class three times in a row.
The official DAKAR.com website has all kinds of information including the route the race takes, and the current leader. You can look at the current stage and leaders in the SSV class here https://www.dakar.com/en/rankings/stage-9/ssv . You can also keep with some videos which you can see here https://can-am.brp.com/off-road/us/en/can-am-world/dakar.html.
