Welcome The 2016 Indy Red Polaris General

2016 Polaris General Indy Red

We brought you the news back in November that Polaris has released a band new side-by-side named the General, and set it squarely in the utility-recreation segment of the market. The General is somewhat of a mix between a RZR and Ranger, so it plays and works with you. Feedback from our friends in the industry has been positive, and the consensus is that the General is a go anywhere do anything side-by-side. It has 100 horsepower, RZR S-type suspension and has a tilt-bed. It also may give us a glimpse into the future cabs of RZRs, since it has a bit more polish and comfort than some of the other Polaris side-by-sides.The indy red version of the General is now in dealerships, and this rounds out the current General lineup. Below are the other available models and the rest of the press release about the Indy Red model. We will be receiving a demo model in the next month, and will do a review and video review of this new side-by-side. There is also a link to our announcement about the Polaris General.

Polaris General Intro From Polaris

Polaris Press Release

In November, Polaris launched the Polaris GENERAL™, the new standard in off-road versatility. With its ability to both tackle the trails and have a work ethic, The GENERAL received high praise from industry editors and customers alike.

Polaris launched the GENERAL in two models:

  • Velocity Blue that included automotive-style paint, Sport Low Profile Front Bumper, Polaris HD 4500 lb. (2041 kg) winch and an upgraded tire package.
  • Deluxe Orange Burst with all the features included on the Velocity Blue model with the addition of premium adjustable Fox Podium X 2.0 QS3 Shocks, Pro-Fit Lock & Ride Sport Roof, rear-view mirror and a MTX® audio package.

As announced at launch, a third GENERAL model would be available in March, the base Indy Red, which is now available in dealerships. The Indy Red model shares many of the same premium play and work features as the other two models, including: class-leading power, torque, suspension travel, ground clearance, electronic power steering (EPS) and comfort for all-day riding. Also similar to the Velocity Blue and Orange Burst vehicles, the model still features premium half doors, storage console with 12V charger and an all-new instrumentation that tilts with the steering wheel. It retails for $15,999 US and $19,999 CAN.
