Polaris Announces The Updated 2021 RZR Trail & Trail S

New 2021 Polaris RZR Trail & Trail S ModelsThe year was 2015, and it was a BIG year for Polaris.
Coming off the 2014 release of the RZR XP 1000, I remember not expecting much. Polaris has different plans as it released a significant update to the RZR 800 and RZR S 800 by moving to a new body and a new engine producing 75 horsepower. Fast forward to 2021 and now we have updates to the entire RZR Trail and RZR S Trail lineup.

New 2021 Polaris RZR Trail & Trail S Models

RZR Trail 50-Inch

Let’s start with the ascent of the original RZR 800 that changed everything: The 50-inch RZR Trail. Changes include updated bodywork and grille, moving of the seat and steering wheel, decreasing the diameter of the steering wheel, full doors, and a change in the roll cage including adding backbones in the rear. The RZR Trail now comes in three trim levels to reflect the rest of the the RZR lineup including Sport, Premium, and Ultimate models, and all models come with the ProStar 900 twin cylinder engine producing 75-horsepower.

New 2021 Polaris RZR Trail Sport

RZR Trail Sport is the entry level RZR Trail offering all the updates for 2021, but does not come with EPS. It is offered in White Lightning. RZR Trail Sport – $13,399

RZR Trail Premium is the next trim level up adding LED front headlights, power steering, quick-engaging all wheel drive, and aluminum wheels. It is offered in Polaris Blue. RZR Trail Premium – $15,499

New 2021 Polaris RZR Trail Ultimate

RZR Trail Ultimate is top end of the trim levels and includes EPS, LED headlights, RIDE COMMAND, aluminum wheels, quick-engaging all wheel drive, poly roof, rear camera, turf mode, Rockford Fosgate Audio, and high-end adjustable FOX 2.0 Podium X shocks. It is available in Ghost Gray. RZR Trail Ultimate – $16,999

New 2021 Polaris RZR Trail & Trail S Models

RIDE COMMAND 7-inch display.

To hit the highlights, the specs remain the same as in previous years.

  • 75-Horspower
  • 11-inches Ground Clearance
  • 79-inch Wheelbase
  • 10-Inches of Travel Front & Rear
  • Suspension Is Dual A-Arms Front & Rear
  • Polaris On Demand All-Wheel-Drive

The overall improvements are nice. Full doors are where it is at! The adjustable seat has been moved forward and the steering wheel back to allow for a more comfortable seating position including an upright position allowing for more arm and elbow room in the 50-inch width. The change in the roll cage gives more head room to get in and out without smacking the helmet on the cage.

One significant departure from years past is that the entry level RZR Trail S Sport comes with the ProStar 900 engine with 75-horsepower, while the RZR Trail S Premium and Ultimate come with the ProStar 1000 engine producing 100-horsepower.
