2019 Yamaha ATVs & UTVS Are OUT!

 2019 Yamaha YXZ100R

Yamaha has released some big news for the 2019 model year, including updates to both their ATV and side-by-side lineups. Highlights include a new Grizzly SE model in the ATV lineup, a thoroughly revised YXZ1000R, and an all-new 2-passenger Sport/Rec side-by-side in the form of the Wolverine X2.

Side-by-Side Changes for 2019

2019 YXZ1000R – The 2019 Yamaha YXZ1000R receives a major overall for the new year, with changes that should enhance the cockpit, drivability, and overall package that the YXZ offers.

    • New Radiator - The radiator has been relocated to the rear of the vehicle. There are many benefits with this, especially back east where it won’t pack with mud. Drivers and passengers will also experience less heat in the cab because no radiator lines are routed through the tunnel anymore. The radiator has a dual air intake system with one in between the front seats and an additional located in the rear of the vehicle, below the cargo bed. A high capacity dual fan system is now present instead of a single fan. Per Yamaha engineers, this is the largest radiator in Yamaha’s off-road history.
    • New Gear Ratios – 24% lower 1st gear, 2nd-5th gears are each 7% lower. The clutch is exactly the same from last year to this year. Top speed hasn’t been altered
    • Suspension has been completely changed with enhanced spring rates and refinements
    • Sport Shift system sees refinements in the smoothness and quietness of shifting. Engine braking system in the SS should engage more smoothly and quickly than before, too.
    • Upper ROPS shape has been altered so that you have improved visibility when going down hills. Yamaha also moved the sun top back a little and altered the overall shape for better visibility. Plus ingress and egress was enhanced with the ROPS changes.
    • 4x156 bolt pattern is now standard.
    • Bigger wheel and tire combo - 29” Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 tires (8 ply) now come stock on this machine
    • Larger wheels allowed for the brake system to be enhanced. Better brakes with stock steel braided brake lines. There is also an enhanced master cylinder to control the additional braking power.
    • Electric Power steering map has been changed to accommodate the new tires.
    • Hub bearings are larger
    • Main drive shaft and coupler has been changed for improved durability
    • New Turbo kit directly from GYTR – 60% power increase over stock engine output. For the 2019 motor, buyers who want the turbo kit don’t have to change out the rods in the engine; the enhanced versions are included in the stock engine.
    • Yamaha Adventure Pro with Magellan - GPS system that ties into the information from the machine. This essentially means that it monitors the machine’s vitals.
