2020 Yamaha Grizzly Gets The Adventure Pro Treatment
Yamaha has had a very special quad on their hands with the venerable Grizzly, and the 2020 model year brings about more innovation to this already very capable quad. While this utility ATV didn’t get the motor upgrade that so many of us have been hoping for (at least not yet…), it is still no slouch. And, now riders can enjoy the technology of Adventure Pro right on their quad!
Last year, Yamaha unveiled their partnership with Magellan, and the two companies put together their combined engineering minds to develop the Adventure Pro system. Based off of a 7” Android tablet with preloaded maps and other unique software, plus the ability to put your own Android apps on it, the Adventure Pro system has the ability to help you navigate around your favorite riding areas. In addition, Adventure Pro allows the rider to monitor the machine’s vitals, including temperatures, speed, and other features.
Having the opportunity to navigate and monitor the machine’s vitals on one screen is incredibly handy when riding. The screen is mounted right below the handlebars. The storage compartment in this area is retained, and the GPS mount looks to be secure on top of the opening lid.
The navigation side of the system includes pre-loaded OHV trails, Yamaha dealers, thousands of waypoints, and more. Plus, with it being a tablet-based device, you can always upgrade the system as updates are released.
The capability and reliability of the Yamaha Grizzly lineup remains as steadfast as ever. It is still powered by a 700-class, single cylinder, liquid cooled engine. The power plant is backed up by Yamaha’s ultra smooth Ultramatic transmission, which is a CVT-based system. A neutral riding position and heavy duty cargo racks combine to make this machine comfortable and capable for any ride or task.
Pricing for the 2020 Yamaha Grizzly starts at $9899, with the SE model retailing at $10,799 with a couple extra features from the factory. Not only is the Grizzly a great value in the industry, but it is also extremely capable.
