Yamaha has released some big news for the 2019 model year, including updates to both their ATV and side-by-side lineups. Highlights include a new Grizzly SE model in the ATV lineup, a thoroughly revised YXZ1000R, and an all-new 2-passenger Sport/Rec side-by-side in the form of the Wolverine X2.
Recently, approximately 70 Can-Am models were announced to round out their 2019 lineup. With more emphasis put on their quad lineup this year, including a significantly revised Outlander, we are pleasantly surprised with Can-Am’s continued support for all 4-wheel segments.
Yamaha continues to impress with more new models rolling off the Newnan, Georgia factory lines, and the 2019 model year looks to be like another banner one for the tuning fork brand. The latest model to roll out of that factory is the all-new Wolverine X2, which is the next iteration for the brand’s 2-seat Sport/Recreation
As if the Wildcat XX wasn’t enough for one year, Textron Off Road is keeping the ball rolling with new machines! This time, however, it is a utility machine that is swinging the doors open out of the Minnesota-based factory, and the new model name is the Prowler Pro.
The release of yet another 2019 model makes it official: It is that time of the year for new model year machines! The 2019 Polaris Ranger Crew XP 1000 follows closely on the heels of the 2018 Polaris Ranger XP 1000 that was a complete "ground up" redesign with many of the improvements being developed directly from customer input. Now all of those design features
We have to admit that we were not expecting any 2019 models for at least a couple more months... but... Can-Am has different plans as it turns out. Can-Am has introduced a new addition to the Maverick family: the 60-inch Maverick Sport. The Maverick Sport is offered with the 976cc Rotax V-Twin with either 75 horsepower or the same engine with 100 horsepower. The suspension is setup
Winter may be winding down for the year, but that doesn't mean there isn't plenty of snow out there to be ridden. The best way to tackle a lot of snow is to put tracks on your ATV or side-by-side, and Can-Am has a late present for you. Here is the Apache Backcountry kit for the Maverick Trail, but there is availability for their ATVs
It’s time to welcome a new member to the pure sport segment of the side-by-side market, and it is the elusive Wildcat XX from Textron Off Road. It has been a long time coming! The Wildcat XX started as a joint project between Arctic Cat and Robby Gordon the well known off road racer, but Arctic Cat couldn’t seem to get it to market. Enter Textron Off Road with its acquisition
Now this is something interesting! The RS1 is a center mounted single-seat attached to side-by-side RZR XP 1000 chassis minus some wheelbase, and it looks like a blast to drive. With 110-horepower 999cc ProStar 1000 engine pushing the RS1 down the trail and cornering on a dime. We also noticed that the brake pedal
Can-Am is bringing something new to its side-by-side lineup, and we are wondering what it is. The videos seem to show a two-seat machine that is not very long, and looks to be for exploring. That would be right up our alley. Watch the videos and see for yourself.
Meet the brand new four-seat Wolverine X4 recreational/utility side-by-side from Yamaha. We recently had a chance to check it out in person, and we are excited about this side-by-side. Three years in development, the Wolverine X4 is aimed directly at those who want a side-by-side for recreation with ability to take up to four people into the tight-trail areas of the off-road. Extreme efforts were made to make this side-by-side capable, comfortable, and inspire confidence on the trail. This new vehicle comes complete with a brand new 847cc parallel-twin long stroke engine. A couple of days ago Polaris rolled out its 2018 machines for all the World to see, and this included many small changes, model improvements, price point changes, and a completely redesigned Ranger XP 1000. The internet and social media has been “a buzz” about the fact there is not a new RZR model as of yet in the model release, with many anticipating a brand new RZR to compete directly with the Maverick X3
About a year ago, we at had an opportunity to visit with the Yamaha crew at an event, and we asked them why Yamaha had dropped any kind of 500-class ATV from its lineup? The Yamaha crew said that most ATV buyers chose to spend the extra money to get the 700-class Grizzly or Kodiak when it came time to purchase. Yamaha has priced the Kodiak 700 in the same space as the competitive 500-class ATVs
It’s that time again, when the 2018 models will begin to be announced, and Can-Am is the first to announce 2018 models. We have come up with a breakdown.
There is a new Mule Pro model for 2018 and it is called the Mule Pro FXR. A new front end, roof, heavy-duty bumpers and additional lights are just a few of the features on this new version of the Mule Pro. Check out the video from Stonecold Steve Austin himself introducing the FXR.
Polaris RZR, this Memorial Day, is partnering with Warfighter Made, a non-profit organization that supports ill, injured, and combat-wounded service members and veterans, with the “RZR Salute to Heroes” donation and giveaway campaign. The campaign is raising funds for the organization so they can continue to provide off-road experiences and customized vehicles to those injured while serving our country.
It would be good to be this guy! Yamaha recently announced the winner of the 2017 YXZ Supercross Sweepstakes for the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, and he sure seems like a nice guy making his win that much better.
That didn't take long did it! After only a few weeks after acquiring Arctic Cat, Textron Off Road has kicked the Arctic Cat brand off all future off road vehicles, and will only be using it on the snow side of its business. There has been a bunch of speculative talk as to what Textron plans to do with Arctic Cat, and now all off road vehicles from Arctic Cat will be Textron Off Road. There is the Textron Off Road Wildcat, Altera, Prowler,

Yep...it is 2017 ARGO XTV, and yes... it is for us to test the next couple of months. For years we have heard about ARGOs, including how they have a go-anywhere attitude including your nearest body of water. We can say that our first test ride was an eye-opening

Working with members of the Southern California Mountains Foundation (SCMF) and the U.S. Forest Service (USFS)
A fourth installment of the RZR XP1K4 is on the way, with the first glimpse of the machine itself in both the photos and a teaser video. We like the look of this new XP1K4 RZR a lot. It is sharp. The video teaser of what is to come is pretty fantastic also. Hats of to Mad Media and RJ Anderson for pulling together what will no doubt be a great RZR video. Feel free to take a look at the past versions of XP1K, and stay tuned for more in the new video.
It seems like many companies from Can-Am to Polaris are partnering with racing teams to promote their machines. Textron Off Road can now be added to the list as it is now Joe Gibbs Racing MX (JGRMX) team’s official utility vehicle brand. JGRMX will use a fleet of Textron Off Road Stampede 4x4s to assist in rider transportation, track maintenance, and whatever else is needed while traveling throughout North America. The Stampede has plenty of power to tackle any job that JGR throws its way, so much storage space, there is plenty of room to store all of their tools and equipment.
It seems it hasn't been very long since we had the opportunity to lay eyes on the 2017 Yamaha YXZ1000R and YXZ 1000R SS special editions, which were jaw-droopingly good looking! In fact, the YXZ1000R SS SE that we will be featuring in an upcoming video is the red and black version which could not be a better looking pure sport side-by-side. Apparently Yamaha thought it could throw another SE version
It seems Arctic Cat is looking to sell several ATVs by offering a full-size ATV with 700-class power at a 400-class price with the introduction of its 2017 VLX 700 ATV. At a price point of $5,999 those ambitions of a full-size ATV at a mid-size ATV price is a reality. The VLX 700 has Arctic Cat's 695cc H1 engine making
