(Including but not limited to: passenger cars, buses, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, mini motorcycles, ATVs, dune buggies, go carts)
Operation of a vehicle off designated roads and trails, or on an area or trail closed to use.
Operation of a vehicle in a manner causing or likely to cause environmental damage.
Operation of a vehicle in violation of State law or regulation, including:
Unregistered vehicles (applies to all vehicles operated, transported and/or parked on public lands)
Exceeding noise limits (motorcycles and ATVs)
Non functioning spark arrester (motorcycles and ATVs)
Carrying a passenger (ATV only) (However, the operator of an all-terrain vehicle, that is designed for operation by an operator with no more than one passenger, may carry a passenger when operating on public lands.)
Operating without a DOT-approved helmet (ATV only)
Operation of a vehicle in a reckless, careless, or negligent manner.
Operation of a vehicle while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
Possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a vehicle.
Cutting, burning, destroying, or removing vegetation without authorization.
(Use only dead and down vegetation for campfires / no live tree cutting / permit required for removal of firewood from public lands)
Leaving fire unattended.
Performing any act restricted by Fire Prevention Orders.
(Fire Prevention Orders, when applicable during the active wildland fire season, will be posted with these regulations)
Discharging or using firearms or fireworks in a developed recreation site (campgrounds & day use areas) .
Willfully damaging or destroying property, structures or resources (including but not limited to signs and trees).
Creating a hazard or nuisance (shooting from or across public roads and trails and/or in any manner endangering the public) .
Possession of an unregistered assault weapon as defined by California law and DOJ regulations.
Littering (pickup and pack out all targets, expended shells and other personal trash) .
Hunting in violation of applicable State and Federal laws and regulations.
*In the Knoxville Recreation Area, shooting is prohibited except for the legal pursuit and taking of game.
Camping and Day Use
Camping longer than 14 days within one calendar year on lands managed by BLM Ukiah Field Office.
Leaving personal property, including vehicles, unattended longer than 24 hours in day use areas, or 72 hours in other areas.
Damaging, removing or moving public property. (including but not limited to tables, barriers, structures or other campground and recreational features and equipment)
Littering, or disposing of any garbage except in designated places or receptacles.
Disposing of any refuse or waste brought from private or municipal property.
Defacing, disturbing, destroying or removing personal property, structures, livestock, archaeological resources, mineral resources or any natural resources.
Creating a hazard or nuisance.
Making unreasonable noise.
Discharging or using firearms or fireworks in a developed recreation site.
Public Health, Safety and Comfort
Interfering with uses or users authorized by the Bureau of Land Management on public lands.
Possessing a controlled substance.
Possessing alcoholic beverages if less than 21 years of age.
Refusing to disperse, when directed to do so by an authorized officer.
Interfering with any Bureau of Land Management employee engaged in the performance of official duties.
Resisting arrest or issuance of a citation by an officer engaged in official duties.
PERSONS COMMITTING ANY OF THESE PROHIBITED ACTS MAY BE SUBJECT TO FINE OR IMPRISONMENT.
