The following regulations are enforced on the Wayne National Forest:
Current license, and Ohio all-purpose vehicle (APV) registration/license required.
Designated ATV trails are for vehicles 50 inches or less in width.
Motorized vehicles are allowed only on designated trails and roads (marked with orange diamonds).
Trails are open for use from April 15th through December 15th each year. Seasonal trail closures are in place to prevent resource damage and limit maintenance costs.
Trail Permits are required for all riders 16 years of age or older.
Prohibit operating any vehicle including ATVs:
In an unsafe manner.
Under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
In a manner which damages or unreasonably disturbs soil, wildlife, or vegetation.
Without an operable braking system.
From one-half hour after sunset to one-half hour before sunrise unless equipped with working headlights and taillights.
With internal or external combustion engines not equipped with a properly installed spark arrester or exhaust system.
In violation of posted or established limits on speed, weight, or width.
Violations are enforced by Forest Officers and violators face up to $5,000 fine and/or 6 months imprisonment for each offense.
