The Arapeen OHV Trail System is located in south central Utah in the Manti-La Sal National Forest. There are over 350 miles of ATV and 4x4 routes that are included in the system. The trails are marked at the trail heads with the level of difficulty, easy to extreme. The backbone of the trail system is the Skyline Drive which is a rugged 4x4 experience for most of its 58-mile length from Utah Highway 31 to the north to the Fishlake national Forest boundary on the south.
Access to the trails can be found on the west and east sides of the Manti La Sal Mountains. There are trails that are only passable by ATV’s along with other sections where ATV’s share the use of Forest roads. ATV routes are also shared by horses, mountain bikes, and hikers so please be courteous and watch out for other visitors.
All travel in the Forest is restricted to designated roads and trails. The Arapeen Trail system connects with the Great Western Trail system and the Paiute ATV Trail system.
The trail system is generally open beginning late May, however high elevation areas may not be accessible until July 1st. Snow generally closes the trails by early November. Maps can be obtained at any Manti La Sal National Forest Service office.
The Wasatch Plateau plays host to the Arapeen OHV Trail System and what a host it plays. Rolling hills, lush foliage and the serenity of being above 10,000 feet make this a prime recreation area rife with memory making opportunities.
